What It Is
4ort.news is the lab's news brain: a NewsBlur fork wired directly into GDELT's global knowledge graph. Instead of a flat list of RSS feeds, it builds 34 curated topics across 10 categories from both GKG streams (English plus the translingual stream covering 65+ languages), so the picture of the world isn't limited to what got written in English.
It's built for the moment news breaks, not just the archive. A real-time "Firehose" surfaces story emergence as it happens, and a "Just-Minted" feed tracks entities the knowledge graph created from breaking news: new people, places, and things the moment the world starts talking about them.
The agent-first piece is the per-user OAuth MCP server: connect your agent once and it reads, summarizes, and manages your news as you. Your topics, your subscriptions, your read state, all under your own identity rather than a shared service account.
